DisplayPort supports audio, but this is an optional feature and not supported by all sources. If your source supports DisplayPort with audio and it is enabled, then this product will transmit the audio signal to a connected display. Displayport.org has an Audio User Guide with instructions on how to make sure that your device is set up properly for transmitting audio.
