Green Initiatives
When you use Eaton products, you protect more than just your vital electrical equipment and sensitive electronics - you also protect the environment. Eaton believes in environmental responsibility. That's why we've enacted a variety of green initiatives, including a commitment to industry leadership in RoHS compliance.
RoHS Compliance
Eaton was an early supporter of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, which strictly limits the use of six hazardous substances in electrical and electronics equipment: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).
WEEE Compliance
Eaton is compliant with the European Union's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive, which makes manufacturers responsible for disposing of their waste electrical and electronic equipment in an eco-friendly manner. Eaton's partnership with Sims Recycling Solutions, the world's largest electronic/electrical equipment recovery/recycling company, assures full WEEE compliance in our primary Western European and Canadian markets.
