The primary function of Tripp Lite 16/32/48 Port USB Charging Stations is to charge connected devices. As long as AC power is present to the USB charging module and the devices are connected to the USB charging module with the appropriate USB cable and require a charge (are less than 100% charged), the Tripp Lite 16/32/48 Port USB Charging Station will perform the charging function.

Provided that the USB device limit per host controller is not exceeded, off-the-shelf USB hubs will allow synchronization from a single host computer.

There are many variables that affect the time needed for charging. The simple answer is that it will vary depending upon the sync/charge state of the individual devices connected to the Tripp Lite 16/32/48 port USB charging station. When a variety of makes and models of devices are connected, the maximum time should be determined by the device that has the largest battery capacity/sync capacity and the lowest charge/synchronization level.

Some USB devices are designed to charge only when connected to a host device. Tripp Lite 16/32/48 Port USB Charging Stations will charge these devices if a host computer is connected to the available USB 2.0 port on the sync/charge module. Because of device design, only the USB versions of our charging stations will charge devices that require a host connection. In cases where a specific model of device does not charge, please contact our support team and we will create an updated charging profile to accommodate your needs.

Requirements for host computers are determined by the manufacturer of the devices being synced in the Tripp Lite 16/32/48 Port USB Charging Stations. Tripp Lite USB Charging Stations only require that the host computer have a USB 2.0 port.
